Ford 4500 - Removing dash help

I'm trying to figure out if there is an easier way to remove the sheet metal at the dash without removing the steering wheel. I'm trying to install a kill cable, and can't get the remnants of the old one out of the hole in the dash.

Aint no way to remove the rear hood without taking the steering wheel off. If it's been on there for a long time, removal efforts might include a torch.

remove old cable.. use drill bit to drill off head of old cable housing and it will fall out.

Sotxbill beat me to it, but that's what I have done. cut cable pull out corem drill stem till head pops. poke a new one thru and nut it from the back as normal.

Thanks guys. I'll try the drill method. Going to have to take the steering wheel off eventually - it's basically a ring of bare metal at this point. Waiting for cooler weather and a reduction in the bugs first.
