Ford 600 tractor

I was wondering y'all's opinion on the Ford 600 series looking at one of them seller is asking 2000.00 for it. It has a 4 speed with live PTO I looked on tractor data using the serial number which is EAE 8015 with an 8 or F at the end but did not get anywhere any assistance would be appreciated.
Thankyou

I know the NAA had a live pto which was operated by a lever but don't know if it fit on or was ever used on a 600. A 600 with a 4 speed will not have live pto. The number you posted is an engine casting number not a serial. The number is consistent with the 134 engine used in the 600.

My mistake this tractor does not have a live PTO after taking to the seller again to double check. I will get the correct serial number and get back to you.

Can't put any kind of value on it without knowing condition. The location of the tractor matters too in some parts of the country the prices maybe higher or lower.

Than $2000 might be a fair number for it but I can't speak for the tractor prices in your area. Maybe some one local might advise you better on price.

The number you gave is the number for the engine block. Look on the flat to the rear of the starter and you'll find two lines of numbers. The serial number and model number. Check the link below for more info on your tractor.

(quoted from post at 06:32:01 07/19/15) Condition looks good tires had good tread seems to be strait been repainted white on blue the tractor is located in Arkansas.

For me the incorrect blue and white paint will reduce the price by $500.

Blue and white started, I believe, during the thousand series. Ford did have a program where the dealer would paint your old tractor the new blue and white colors for a discounted price. Someone posted the original flyer a while back on this site, just can't remember who it was to give credit.

You mean this one?

Originally red and grey for the 600. The lighter grey (almost white) would be the 601 series and later. Here's a shot of my 640. The blue paint doesn't effect the running of the tractor.

Paint would not affect the operation of the tractor I
realize that I didn't know if it was original until on here was stated in later years they were repainted by the dealer. My question to you Kirk N-J how do you like the tractors performance and operation of your 640 I may try to post picture of this tractor.

My 640 was a ran when parked for about 7/10 years which I bought a couple few years ago. Put in a clutch and got it running and I've been running it on a temp tank for the past few year. It had the loader on it and the power steering didn't work. I took the loader off, sold it, repaired the power steering, fixed some leaks and am in the process of cleaning the tank, Then it will be painted. I like it just fine and since the power steering now work I like it even better. It is unlikely you 600 will have power steering unless it's a later one as mine is. I'll probably put a one arm loader on it when done.
They are good little tractors that are leaps and bounds over the old 8n.

In my area of Missouri $2000 would be right in the ball park for one if not a tad bit on the cheap side

The 600 is similar to my MF35 and personally i like it very much except that neither has power steering. it does everything around the farm I need it too including moving 5x5 round bales. It seems a fair price for the tractor if there is no obvious problems. Like a previous poster stated, it's way ahead of an 8N.
