I am looking at a 1967 4000 (3 cyl diesel) with a SOS tranny. It works in all the forward and reverse gears and the only issue is that it is losing fluid out the weep hole. Does that indicate a bad seal or something worse? Never been inside one of these. The SOS in my 5000 has been flawless and I love it for haying, so I would like to add another to the fleet. i'd love to hear what you think might be causing the fluid leak. Thanks. Dopp

By weep hole, you're talking bell housing, not? If so, it's got an input shaft seal or rear main seal gone as a bare minimum. Can you tell if it's transmission fluid or engine oil?
