675d ford turbo backhoe will not move

I was wondering if anybody knows anything about these transmissions I have checked all switches such as neutral switches on shifter and loader stick. all ohm ok, checked shuttle shift, two pins will ohm, one in reverse one in forward. I replaced transmission control module. all fluids are full. changed transmission filter. pulled and cleaned suction filter in bottom of transmission. Hydraulic pump is turning. unit moved fine last winter. has not since then. any input is appreciated.

Sounds like a bad clutch pack seal. Have you put a gauge on it? Record the pressure with the shuttle in all three positions, and in different transmission positions.

Kinda doubt a clutch pack seal if it was working fine when he parked it.

I'd put a pressure gauge on the thing and look for fluctuations when you shift between F-N-R. If the pressure is good and yet gauge does not flicker during shifts, then you likely have an electrical issue, which would make the most sense given the stated conditions.

My next step would be to make sure the transmission controller has adequate power and ground.

the electrical part was the way I was thinking next, about the right voltage going to the controller. the proportion valve on top of the transmission has two electrical control solenoids that controls the fluid direction. this is controlled by the shuttle shift lever. is this located on top of the transmission case, or do you have to pull the transmission to access this valve. from the parts manual its hard to tell. the fuel tank sits right over the top and this is where the cab and the fire wall meet. can not see valve nor get to it, unless the fuel tank is removed. thanks for the info so far.

You are probably right, but my 8240 was working just fine until I went to start again after checking bale weight, first time around in the first field of the season. Then it would not move.

I believe the solenoids are accessed through a plate underneath the fuel tank. However, I'm not positive about this. Suggest getting a repair manual.

Hate to spend $400.00 dollars on manual unless I have to go deeper. I could put the money on solenoid valve if this is the problem. but if not I will certainly have to bite the bullet and purchase a manual. can not understand why this manual is so high. the rest of the ford models are no where close to this price. why is this manual so high. I know it has over 1200 pages but most of it is on simple stuff.

Everything NH sells is overpriced, including their manuals. If funds are an issue, I'd take a trip over to my local dealer and ask to peruse through their repair manual. Be sure to tell them you'll be purchasing the parts through them, that always helps a lot.
