ford 7710 ground or wiring problem?

I rarely use my tractors at night. However, with the weather this summer I was attempting to cut hay tonight. Found out my light dont work correctly. Tractor is an low serial #, an early model. I can have the lower two front lights on, and the upper rear worklights. Or I can have all the front lights on, but the upper rear lights will not work. I seem to have an owners manual for a series 2..The switches do not match up. I have two 3 position switches and one toggle for the hazards. Does anyone know if the second switch is supposed to control the front lights at all? If i push the second(middle) switch all the way up..I turn on the upper front worklights. Center position on that switch turns on the rear worklights. pushing the bottom down is the off position. I bought this tractor 3 years ago and im sure its been taken apart and put back together. But im still thinking ground problem? I know this is confusing..

so to try to clear things up. switch one(left side) down is off. center is lower front lights. up is upper front lights.
switch two(middle) down off. center upper rear lights. up is upper front lights.
switch three(right) is hazard
if i have the upper rears on(middle switch center) and turn the upper front lights on(either left switch up or center switch up) the rear lights shut off.

so i hope that is clearer than mud..

I'm not at all familiar with that switch setup. I suspect it's probably a 'B' prefix serial number? Meaning it has UK style switches...
Regardless... the first thing I go for is the 3 wire bulkhead connector under the cab that is visible from the right side when you look in above the starter. Those are notorious for corroding or disintegrating. That connector contains the main supply to the cab and ignition load relay as well as the main cab harness grounds... I usually just replace the bulkhead connector with blade connectors and seal them up good with bead sealer/brush on electrical tape... then tape over that. It needs renewing every few years thereafter...
Given the number of anomalies you seem to have, a bad ground is likely the source of the problem and that bulkhead connector is the first go to point..

rear work lights and hazards were on the 3 way switch iirc. One or the other, but not both as same time.

front lights were all on headlight switch.. at least on all i have seen.
