641 Choke Knob

Dumb question. Finishing up the details on my 641 restoration, and pulled the choke rod back off, stripped the paint, shined it up natural, and clearcoated it. I didn't realize until now that the knob actually screwed off. It's a thin sheetmetal part with a threaded center. Is this the original knob? Or should it be the common cast aluminum part that I see available everywhere?

Thanks,
Kevin

Sounds like what my 841 ford has on it and it has been there as far as I know since it was new

yup its a thin metal knob. I didn't even know that till I bought my 3rd hundred series.

my first two were missing the knob, and when I ordered a replacement I got the 8n style knob

Great. Thanks guys. At least that's one thing I don't have to buy.

And with that, the restoration might be DONE this week. Maybe.

But then again, there's that set of pie weights out back that need painted...
