Antifreeze in oil , Ford D5011k backhoe

Hi, I purchased a Old Ford D5011K backhoe that has been setting a while and it has antifreeze in the oil, is there anything besides a head gasket that will cause this? It is a 68 with a 3 cylinder diesel.

D5011K is a 4500 with a diesel engine, no PTO and a 6x4 manual reversing transmission. Another possible cause for coolant in the oil is pinholes in the cylinder walls from cavitation if the previous owner didn't run the proper anti-cavitation additive in the coolant.

ul Thanks, for your reply, either way I need to pull the head, I just wanted to make sure there is nothing else that can cause this, water pump, cooler, etc. I am not real knowledgeable about the 3 cylinder diesel engines. I gave 1500 for the old tractor /backhoe/loader, just hope it is just a head gasket and I do not have to get another engine.

Hi , did you figure it out as I have a similar problem but mine moves water without a head on, so no compression and no water pump to create water flow or pressure.
Thanks in advance
