Generator Warning Light

I've got a generator warning light on my 601. Now that I have converted over to 12 volts, I was wondering if I could some how use the warning light in conjunction with the new alternator and, if so, how would you wire it? I could just use a amp meter in lieu of the gas gauge, but would like to keep the gas gauge if possible. I would still need something, however, to let me know if the alternator wasn't charging. Would appreciate your thoughts

If your using the Delco 10si 3 wire set up yes you can use that light blub. Just wire it into the wire coming off the #1 wire then to the ignition switch the side that is hot when turned on

No, this is a single wire alternator. Can it still be used with these?
