Hello Wayde , Looks to 1971 or newer and the axle looks to be a County or a Roadless can't see the Transfer case in your pictures . Roadless Transfer case generally goes between the trans. and rear axle , County and Schidlers mount on the PTO hole on the side of the rear axle housing but Schindlers do not have hubs stcking through the front wheels like yours does . Any ID Plates on the axle ? Thanks Tony

Tony,It does have the transfer case, have not look for a tag yet.Everthing runs and works good.

HISTORY

The unequel 4wd system was invented & manufactured in Italy by Manual Selene who fitted it onto many different tractors. Roadless Traction in UK were licenced to build & sell conversion kits for Fordson Dexta, Super Dexta and the Majors, plus the later Ford 5000 variations paying Selene a royalty on each one sold here.

Roadless initially imported the axles & transferboxes from Italy, the name plates & plate on the axle say "Manual Roadless". Later Roadless had the transfer boxes manufactured in Britain, and sourced their axles in Europe from surplus US army vehicle dumps [brand new in the crate] and modified them by shortening one side of the axle housing & drive shaft.

Selene built the transfer box between the clutch & main gearbox. The smaller tractors were fitted with modified front axles from surplus US WW2 army vehicles. Some were Jeep, others were Dodge WC Weapons Carrier and the largest GMC CCKW 6x6.

Selene would have sold their 4wd conversion kits to other tractor companies around the World.

The model sold in Britain on the Ford 3000 was called the Roadless 46, less than 50 were sold. Roadless did not manufacture this axle & transfer box, the units were imported straight from Selene in Italy.

Officially Roadless were not allowed to export to USA, whereas County shipped their equel wheel tractors Worldwide. County built an unequel 4wd tractor based on the Ford 4600 called the County 4600-4 using axles & transferboxes sourced from a European manufacturer.

You are a very lucky man to have found this rare 3000 4wd.
