Ford 3500 industrial power reversing transmission

We have a ford 3500 industrial (69 model I think) that has the 4/4 power reversing transmission. Neutral is a pain in the butt to find. You have to cycle between forward and reverse to get it to go to neutral. Can anybody describe or link me to how to check the linkage for proper adjustment? Anything else to check?

I used to have the same issue with mine. Look at the link that goes into the bell housing. If I remember there is a bolt that
goes through the arm and the rod that goes into the housing. The bolt and hole wear oblong causing the problem. I cut a slot
in the end of the arm where it slips over the rod. That way when you tighten the bolt it clamps the arm around the rod so
that if the hole is worn it won't matter. Will shift like new after that.
