640 no restart when hot - solved

recap: 640, 12 volt, runs fine, but when shut off while hot, no restart. Spark at coil but not plugs. Rotor found burnt,
but replacing did not help.

And the answer was: the advance weights were messed up in that a there was corrosion and b the springs had rusted off.

thanks to all who patiently helped me.

hat is why I asked you to see exactly where the rotor was pointing relative to cap posts at the moment points begin to open. Did that question help you in identifying the advance mechanism failure?

can't answer that.........because the picture is for early front mount N tractor, the words for a late side mount distributor & you have a hundred series tractor! Looks like a bad bet to me.
