Just bought this Ford Model 711 single side arm loader for my 1955 Ford 950 (wide front end) and need the mounting brackets. Anyone know of any I can buy, or know of patterns I can get to make my own?

You have the hip bracket and the bottom bracket. You need the front bracket and the small under trans bracket (that ones not hard to make) Keep checking ebay, tractor salvage yards, ask around you might get lucky.

Here's a better shot of the front bracket. One of the guys on this site or the N site made a front bracket a few years back. Maybe you can do a search. I guess you can go that route if you don't find one. If you do find one you might have to do a little welding repair. Check the backside up by the top holes.
Don't look at my hip bracket. It's an offset to carry the short box frame. Yours appears to be the right one for the long box.

Check this link out. Alan had made the front RC bracket. Should you decide to go this way I have one off my 960 so I can get you some rough measurements if you need them

Thanks for the info, yes pictures, sketches and dimensions would be very helpful! I will also continue to look for original parts as well.

as has been said, the front bracket is makeable from 1/2" plate. I've made one, and have templated mine a couple times for a couple other people.

Do you still have paper templates that you can send me, or does anyone else have prints? I bought an Installation manual on line, and it appears per the manual that all I'm missing is the front mounting bracket. I have the Mounting Bracket and the Support Stabilizing Bracket seen in figure 11.

You will also need the small bracket in the center of the photo. Pay no attention to the other bracket they are for a utility model. The small bracket attaches to the two holes under the trans. 5/8 bolts are used along with spacers. The spacer size will be the same size id on the support bracket hole. I'll try to get a photo later today for a visual.

Here are some measurements for the front RC bracket. When making one up I would add a little more steel length to top to give top holes a little more meat. Take a stiff piece of cardboard and with the backside of a ball-peen hammer bang out the holes on the frame to transfer on to steel.
I'll show the photo of the under trans bracket in another post.

Here's a photo of the tranny bracket. This one is homemade 3/8" steel 7" long X 2" wide. Hope this helps.
Post some photos when you get it done.

Great. I'll just make the mounting plate from 5/8" plate. Is it same for the plate with 1 5/8" hole? It looks a little thicker. I'll draw it up today and get going on a pattern next week to check the dimensions on the tractor. Thanks for taking the time to gather all of the info, its appreciated. Gary

So the entire bracket is made from 1/2 material, with the exception of the mounting plate section, that is built up to 5/8" around the 4ea. mounting holes. Thanks, I'll get to work on it.

I mocked up a bracket from wood to check the fit. I just need one dimension check, from the center of the lower mounting holes to the center of the 1 5/8" hole. See photo. I have it at 9"

As you can see by the photo 9" appears to be about right. The web with the big hole curves back a little as you can see in the next photo. I don't know if it is that crucial on a homemade one.

No photo was shown?
Since you built a mock-up you might want to take a measurement from the edge of the round knob on the hip bracket down to the face of the mounting hole on the front bracket then take a measurement on your loader frame from the edge of the hole on the hip mounting box down to the knob that will be going into the front bracket. measurements should be close. if the back of the knob that goes in the front bracket is too tight you will not be able to mount the hip bracket knob over the box hole.
I hope this makes sense?

Kirk, Front bracket has a little adjustment, so the measurement from the edge of the hold to the center of the knob on the hip bracket is approximately 30 1/4". 3 1/2". I've added pictures, but they do not seem to be uploading to the site. Send me your e-mail address and I will forward. [email protected]
