600 PTO Shaft

Shaft is worn and is the small size. Wanting to replace entire shaft with 1- 3/8 modern size. Are there any gotchas? Just drive tractor front into ditch, take out three bolts and pull the shaft?? Or are there other things to consider. Thanks.

Just did a 8n last wk. I jacked the rear end up about 6 in and blocked it under the wheels about 2 gals of oil came out into a 5 gal pail.

What I want to know is after I remove the three bolts will it just slide out? Anybody? I've done Fergusons, never done a Ford 600.

Did that on an old 860 years ago. Thing is some of the rear end fluid will go up into the hydraulic section. Check all fluid levels when back to level.
Yes it should pull straight out.
