12 volt alternator diode ?

i have sodered diode to wire for 3 wire alternator . i was wondering should i shrink wrap soder conectios and diode.or just soder joints

Pretty much does not matter which you do. I have done them both ways over the years and both have worked just fine. If you use the heat shrink be careful close to the diode so as not to get it to hot

I take a zip tie and cut it, lay it on the diode, then shrink wrap it as strain relief.
