ford 801 diesel

purchased ford 801diesel 4 cyclinder tractor recently knew buy. front of tractor alternator in a box not essembled and no belt it looks to be one wire delco remy need wiring diagram for diode and light. and napa # or belt size for tractor . it also had incorrect pulley narrow can I get one at parts store napa etc.this tractor is a knew purchase cracked block I welded block and trying to put back together from preveous owner I HAVE MOVED UP IN THE WORLD FROM A 8N TO A 801 . any sugggestions on this diesel before starting will be appreciated and were are the 75 tips for a801 diesel . which manuel is the best for tractor

What specifically are you asking about the alternator and front end of the tractor?

Larry, I'm going to give it a try. Bigbleeker, welcome to the forum and congratulations on the purchase of your new tractor. I know very little about those old diesels, but lots of other folks here do. They'll get you taken care of.

He recently purchased a Ford 801D. It's a new buy. On the front of the tractor is an alternator, but it's not hooked up, only mounted (guessing here). There is no belt. It looks to be a 1-wire Delco-Remy. He needs a wiring diagram and Napa part number or belt size for this tractor too. It also has the incorrect pulley on the alternator. Where can he get the correct pulley?

This tractor had a cracked block and he welded the crack. He has stepped up from an 8N to this 801D

Which manual is best? I'm guess repair manual is what he wants.

I'm lost on 75 tips for the 801.

I think he is asking where are the 75 tips for the 01 series, similar to the 75 for the 8N
 
Sorry your right . Fan belt length or napa # for belt . And wiring diagram for 3
wire delco remy alternator . Sorry for my horrable writing skills. The 75 tips
was a joke unless you have them .
 
Try googling for "JMOR Wiring Diagrams". I think they might help at least get you in the right direction.
 
since this is a diesel .. a wire from the switched side of the key to #1,, a wire from charge stud to #2, and a wire fromt he charge stud to the hot side of the start solenoid will make it charge.

If the charge indicator lamp is working in the dash, you could instead go key to lamp to #1.. etc..
