196? 4cyl 2000 hydraulics

I'm having trouble with my hydraulics. The tractor is a mutt . . . it started out as a SOS, but the tranny was replaced by a 4 speed, so I don't know the exact year. It has 2 levers to the right of the seat, not counting the 3pt control. The 3pt works. One of the levers the inner one, controls a 2way setup which appears to work (the engine labors and the hoses stiffen due to pioneer couplings at the end) It's the other lever, the outer one, that is causing me trouble. I'm trying to set up a snowplow blade in the front. I have a 2 way cylinder. I tried using 2 hoses, the plow would raise but not lower. I then tried a single hose, loosening the allen screw under the front hose as the IT book says. Once again upward pressure, but no allowing the plow to drop. The control valve has 2 ports each on the right and left side. Anyway, does anyone out there have ay ideas.
Thanks,
Tex

Dual, da valve needs 4 hoses/ ports.

On each set in da mode, one is pressure and drop, then they swap in the other direction. Land dual da valves can have one valve setup as sa with a conversion sleeve or adjuster screw.

If in doubt what port does what, loosen all 4 see which pair goes to each lever, and see if they are working back and forth in da or sa.

No hard work, just observation and some oil to wipe up.

I understand that. I assume that the top ports (the ones in the back of the picture) are one side, and the two at the bottom are the other side. What does "da" and "SA" stand for?
Thanks for your help!

ingle Acting, Dual Acting. Looks like bottom valve.outside lever has only one hose connected as if configured for SA. When configured for SA, it is important as to which of those two ports you connect the hose/cylinder to...........maybe you used the wrong one?

Well I did a little more fiddling with the allen screw and got the blade to lift up and drift down, but it is verrry sloooow. The hose is at least 1/2 inch, and the cyl is about 4 inches in diameter. Shouldn't this move faster? The plow can't weigh more than 150 lbs as I can lift one side by myself. Any thoughts?

id you set the screw to one extreme or the other, i.e., not mid-point? You didn't say, but should I assume that you verified the correct port is connected?
