641 rear axle collar

is it possible to just press the collar on the shaft without using heat.also left brake only has one return spring is it on the front or rear shoe thanks Bruce

Photo of the left side I believe, as the turn buckle on the back hoe mount is aft of the axle, so should be the left side before the drum went on. This should be in the Ford repair book or parts manual, the side with one less spring.

Yes, you can press on the collar without heat.
