Jubilee Carburetor

I am rebuilding my Jubilee and the carburetor I just pulled off is wrong. Its a Marvel Schebler TSX593 and all the publications indicate it should be a Marvel Schebler TSX428. The tractor ran with this carb for the last few years. Apparently the TSX593 "belongs" on a newer tractor with a bigger motor (172cu.in vs 134 cu.in.). Should I replace it with the correct model or just hang tough and adjust as per normal?
I appreciate any help you can give.

Buff,

You'd be tempted to just run it, wouldn't ya? My one worry would be related to fuel economy.

I suppose if you offload it, it perhaps may be worth more than the proper NAA carb, so you end up with a couple extra bucks.

Get the correct carb.

One like that I would look at it this way. If it isn't broke don't fix it because if you try to fix it your sure to break it

think you have answered your own question with, " The tractor ran with this carb for the last few years.". What are you doing? Looking for troubles? If it ain't broke, don't fix it or you will be "fixing" it until it is broke!

May just need to look closer at your carb brass tag??? Stamped numbers can be very lightly stamped or worn.

My NAA carb brass tag has TSX followed by two separate numbers: 753 then 428.

Could both of our barbs actually be TSX428 or not?
