Ford 900 Pinion to Transmission Coupler

I recently bought a Ford 950, and it appears the Pinion to Transmission Coupler is broken. With the tractor on blocks, rear wheels free wheeling, engine running, and in gear, there is a large clunking noise just behind the transmission in the differential housing. I assume the coupler is broken or stripped, or maybe its broken splines on the pinion or transmission output shafts. Any idea where I can find a new coupler? Per the parts manual it is a Ford Part No. NDA-4685-A. Thanks

I would not assume anything.
I would pull the round cover off of the side of the center housing and look in there with a flash light. Go from there.

AS UD said, inspect first, way too many parts that it could be... I've seen ring gears sheared off the diff, broken axle, broken coupling shaft between tranny and rear end, etc. While it's nice to have new parts when taking apart, it's No sense chasing parts down that may not be the problem. Good luck with your project!
