NAA rear hubs and axles

Just tore into my new NAA and find both rear hubs bad. One actually smooth on the inside. See photo. Seems axles look ok but concerned. Bad treads on one axle. Can I just cut new threads to salvage the shaft? Just make them a smaller size? Would like to find good used hubs and axles but seems hard to find. Also has anyone tried a thread locker to hold the axle nut on?

Rethreading an axle has been done. can weld and rethread original, or rethread smaller. I've seen both coarse and fine re-threads.

Used, good hubs are hard to find. hub is soft cast, axle is harder. Plus hubs are fairly cheap. Even with a hard axle and soft hub, the axle can wear. eventually you get enough wear that the hub is setting on too far and the nut shoulders before tightening hub.

a new hub may well help if the axle splines are not extensively worn.

(quoted from post at 02:52:36 05/27/15) I have a good pair of axles.
Would sell one or both reasonable.

I sent an email. Not sure if it went through.
