641 Front axle support bushing wears fast

I have replaced the axle pivot bushing twice in 7 or 8 yrs and now it needs done again, is that normal? The axle bore is slightly egg shaped, has any one ever bored it out to accept a larger O.D. bushing? Thinking
about using cylinder hone, could it reshape the bore to round? I'm Trying to avoid machine shop or new
part.

We have always sent axles with egg shaped holes to a machine shop to be bored over sized and had a bushing made to fit. I would think trying to hone it round and finding a bushing to fit properly would be very difficult and time consuming. I would either send it to a machine shop or just keep replacing the bushing. Also make sure your radius rods are straight as bent radius rods will cause premature wear.
