Ok, so 1968 158 3 cyl gas 3000 is going back together after a .040 bore job to correct the damage from a dropped (& chewed up and swallowed) valve.
The gasket set has 2 oil pan gaskets in it - a black one and a blue one, both paper (haven't mic'd them to check thickness yet) - it's a cast iron pan, the old one had 2 holes in the old gasket that weren't used, just gooped up with sealer (at the rear of the motor). Any idea which one I need to use?
Also, the waterpump is original as far as I know - is that something I can inspect before reassembly (like I did with the oil pump) - check to make sure the impeller is attached and no excessive play in the pump? I don't really want to drop $50 on a new pump if I don't need it.
Thanks
