Jubilee Hyd pump question

Just bought a non running Jubilee. Not very well taken care. Drained all fluids. It does need some rear end work. I want to get the engine running first before I proceed on. Will it hurt the engine driven hyd pump if I run the engine a little? On N series I would just turn off the PTO which shut down the pump.

Abbby,

I wouldn't obsess if you just ran it for a few minutes. But if you did worry, and if yours has the piston style (round) pump, you can add oil through the plug towards the front of the pump. The pump would probably appreciate it.

If you have a vane pump [square] - then no ability to add oil.

You could also take the pump off.

But none of this nonsense is better than just filling the hydraulic fluid up. 8 quarts.

Agree. I will fill up. Just being lazy. Also realized hydraulic system is separate from the rest so I can just fill that up. Thanks
