Time for decals

Nearing the end of the road for my 641 restoration. Planning to put on the hood decals this weekend. Dumb question. For the standard decal sets out there (like the ones sold on this site), is it safe to assume that the surface can be wet with water to help with positioning? Or are they typically peel and pray that you're aligned correctly? Set I got didn't have any sort of instructions.

Thanks,
Kevin

You can use Windex or some recommend a weak solution of dish soap and water. Remember to start in the middle and work towards the outside of the decal using a squeegee or like tool. There are some good YOU Tube videos showing how to apply decals.

If they have the white paper on the front side holding them together I learned its best to let it dry for
a while if your using soap/water before you peel the paper off. That way the decal sticks real good before
you try to peal the paper off. Its kind of like Christmas morning and hard not to try it fast and see the
finished product. You'll only do that once though!!! Been there done that

Good point. I didn't get to it today, hopefully in the morning. I'll keep this in mind.

And yes, it's kind of like Christmas morning with all the shiny tin sitting around just itching to be installed. It's been a long time coming.

Thanks,
Kevin
