When I bought my 3000 about 10 years ago it was a worn out gasser with a straight up 4 speed. Since then it's gone through a few changes.
Not long afterwards I put a school 3600 8 speed transmission and rear end in it giving it better hydraulics and live pto.
A couple of years later I parted out a 2000 and gave it power steering.
Since then it's had two different engines in it - this last one a diesel, and a couple of different front ends.
I've posted some recent progress about paintng a real nice original nose and grill I got for it and this morning Mike gave me a hand putting them on.
I was looking the tractor over afterwards and was thinking about what I Hadn't changed.
I'm pretty sure the only piece left that was on it 10 years ago is this Right side hood. And maybe one of the step plates which will also get changed when I put the Brit style fenders I have for it on.
I think EVERY other piece has been switched out at one point or another.

Here's what it looks like after 10 years of goofing around with it.

We finished two small deer plots yesterday but the big one was too wet to disc and plant so I will do it when it drys out.

Here's Mike my good friend and hunting buddy - yesterday before we switched the nose.
You can tell he's glad for the power steering as it lets him use one hand for more important things.

Hi This tractor story reminds me of the one my grandad used to tell about a yard brush he bought in the 70's before i was born. "It's been a real good brush" it's only had 5 new handles and 4 new heads L.O.L..
if the tractors all painter nobody would ever know it's a Heinz 57 variety's tractor from just looking at it. If you put UK fenders on really it should have the front grill with the head lights in to I guess, but pre force ones are hard to find in North America in New or used. I need one for my county super 6 I just bought.
Regards Robert

Robert,
Is this the style you are looking for?
I never cared for how they looked.
I still have this one here. Not the upper but the lower - along with the original lights.
I would sell them pretty reasonable if you are interested.
Be glad to see them go to someone who appreciates them.
I don't know about shipping them to Canada though.
My email should be open.

That kinda sounds like Junior Samples from heehaw and George Washington's hatchet. He said he had George Washington's hatchet for sale. It had its 4th new handle and 3rd new head

Jerry - I always enjoy your posts. It sounds and looks like you've had lots of "fun" over the years with that tractor and no doubt learned a lot too. Remember, it's the journey not the destination! Nice work and thanks for sharing.

Some thirty-five years ago a neighboring town bought an old Airforce tanker truck for their fire dept. After 8-10 years they jacked the tank up and replaced the Old International cab and chassis with a GMC General. They got very good service from it until the tank got too leaky, So they found a twenty year old modular fire truck tank with compartments and replaced the old Air Force tank. I think that someone liked a PTO lever knob on the original truck and put it on the General, so it is still the same truck to the old timers.

nice
it's now [i:8781296216]your[/i:8781296216] tractor.
I have a few Farmalls like that.
Junkers that I rescued with this and that.
Pretty hard to remember what they actually started out as....

I am always tempted to take one to a show.
Just to see the show 'experts' walk around it with their
eyebrows knitting up.
'what model/year [b:8781296216]is[/b:8781296216] that?'........

I just go to the local feed/seed store and buy their "Big Rack Mix".
Prepackaged mix of several clovers, rape, alfalfa, timothy and turnip.
The stuff keeps going up. I used to pay about $25 for a 10 lb bag - enough to do 2 acres.
Now it's close to double that.
We just broadcast it with a hand crank spreader.

Looks like you're putting that cultipacker to good use.
$2.50/lb. sounds pretty reasonable for a small package of seed. The cheapest stuff I planted this spring was a clover mix for next year's pasture. $2.15/lb. in 50lb. bags. Don't remember offhand what the alfalfa was. Trefoil was over $4/lb.
I don't know anything about planting rates for rape or turnips, but 5 lb./acre sounds pretty light for clover or alfalfa. But if it works well enough for you...

Hi Ultra Thanks for the message Thats the grill and lights :). I got a drop ship guy in ND I use for all my American parts, so Canada shipping wouldn't be any problem for either of us. I simply don't bother with that expensive ear ache any more L.O.L. I tried messaging you 3 times, but it's not working and keeps booting the message out of the system. could you please fire me a message if you don't mind and I'll reply back to it.
Thanks Regards Robert

That's pretty cool. You could say you got it "one piece at a time"...
Eventually I would like to have one that I could try to rebuild like that, just to see if I could do it.

edit: oh and one day I wouldn't mind trying to add PS to mine, would make that one handed thing a lot easier.

Just crossed my mind (I had to be quick) - if it really is a Fordenstein then ultradog would be Dr Fordenstein. :)
