4630- Hydraulics

Still working towards a deal on one, never had a loader on it, MFWD, so I'll review the parts diagrams on the CNH site, see if that helps me understand the front bolster/trunnion or whatever is the correct term is there. I would suspect one that never had a loader, would likely be in good shape at just over 1k hours.

Basically, I have only 2 concerns at this point, the above and below in regard to hydraulics on a 4630 model.

Question really is, for a loader, I've learned that these were built with 2 arrangements, one with an auxiliary pump, that would provide the correct GPM's and whats required so you don't have a painfully slow loader, that is if I understand this correctly.

Its a '97 vintage, has a stack of remotes on the back, 3 pairs or maybe 4 ? How is a loader incorporated, tractor hydraulics/remotes, or auxiliary pump?

If the tractor is not equipped with an auxiliary pump, I read on another forum somewhere it could be added, not sure of the details, just want to know the "lay of the land" so to speak LOL ! I did see that a drive gear could be an issue and would require a split, no idea about that.

When and if the time comes to look at this one, I'd like to be able to know whats on it and what it would take to make it suited for a loader etc.

Much appreciated as always!

If you've got a tractor with 2-3 remotes on the rear with the handles beside the seat you likely already have the aux pump. If it doesn't have the aux pump then you need the pump, suction and supply lines and possibly the drive gear. Some suggest that the gear is sometimes there and sometimes not. If it's not you need to remove the steering pedestal and split the tractor, remove the flywheel and adapter plate... then drive the soft plug out from behind the cam... and install the gear on the rear of the cam. For what it's worth I would most definitely remove the arpeture plate over the cam gear BEFORE I split the tractor......
If it has the second pump already it will have sort of nearly enough flow to run a loader. It's still not what I would call swift but it's a lot better than one pump.

Rod

That's exactly what I was after, forget where I read it Rod, might have been one of your old posts here or someone else on another forum while doing some research about one of these. It appears to have 2 sets of remotes and I'm not sure what the other stub ends are above it, 7 including the 4 below the 3 painted gray. I'll post 2 photos.

I would have to think a woods, Ford/NH loader with the aux. pump would have to be miles ahead of what I have now, just wanted to make sure it would not be ridiculously slow, most of these I have seen have loaders.

I believe its still available and I'll follow thru with checking it out once this car I've got sells again if its still there and timing works out. That may happen this week, have a friend interested in the car, just need some time to get it all done, not enough hours in the day sometimes. Definitely serious about this one or one like it, highly appreciate your time to respond, will return the favor if I could do the same !
