T-handle for PTO will not move or engage the PTO on a 1962 Ford Series 4000 w/ SOS transmition. Have not used it (PTO) in several years. Worked fine when last used.
Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Hopefully the cable is just stuck inside the conduit (cable housing) due to surface rust. Best thing to do is follow the procedure in the manual to remove the handle and cable housing and put a spray of penetrating oil into the conduit to see if you can get it to loosen up. If it's not the cable, then the valve inside the transmission that the cable moves must be stuck. There's procedures in the manual for removing the shifter and top cover of the trans to get at the valve as well.

EDIT: I forgot to add that you should not do anything to that transmission, including removing the PTO handle and cable or shifter without having the proper manual so that you can do it properly. if you do not follow the proper procedures then you are bound to do something that will cost you at least many extra hours putting things right inside the trans before things will work properly again.

Thank you Sean. Just didn't know if there were
other scenarios that might be more more serious or
difficult to deal with.

Your tractor doesn't by chance have the deluxe SOS with the 2 speed/ground speed PTO does it? If it does there's an interlock system that prevents one from engaging the engine driven PTO while the ground speed PTO is engaged.

Yes I do have the deluxe SOS TRANS that is two speeds + ground speed. Have not used PTO
in quite a while. I will check ops. Manual and see if that is the issue thank you very much.
