Kenny went to the tractor boneyard over in Downing, WI yesterday.
I think it's an AllStates yard.
I told him to look for one of these for me.
There were none on the shelves so he asked and was told there might be one on a tractor that had just come in. I guess they go pretty fast when a tractor comes in.
$25.
I was glad to pay it.
I will put this on the 4400 after I get it cleaned up.
You have to tweak things a little to make it fit through the step plate on a Thousand Series but that's not hard. I have one on my 3000 and like it.

Well worth it. Pretty sure Grandpa paid more than that for the one on the 7000. Sure, he was paying for new parts, but that wasat least 25 years ago.

(quoted from post at 07:40:43 05/10/15) for us ignorant ones waizzit?

Brake lock for a 2600/3600/4600 and later tractors. They raise the handle up higher than the ones on the 3 cylinder 2000/3000/4000 series for us "youth challenged" individuals. The thousand series had the bracket for the handle formed into the footrest so you have to be able to touch your toes to set it. The rest of the actual mechanism that locks the brakes is close enough between them that the newer style handle with the longer rod and the bracket for the handle are all you need to make it an easier reach.

It is the brake lock handle from a 3600, 4600, etc.
The older ones - 2/3/4000 work the same underneath the step plate but you had to reach all the way down to your shoe to apply it. The T handle on these mount about 8" higher so as Brendon says it's easier to apply the new style.

Here is the older style.

Peachhead, I bought a 4000 a couple of years ago that someone had added a longer handle to. See the hole in the T handle above.

They added this to it. Was kind of crude but worked good. I'm sure a guy could make one that worked as well but looked less farmerized.

Hi Not sure if you have ever seen much of the fordson Majors from 52 up to 64. most of the North American ones have this type pedal lock. It would need a bit of modification to the rod and bracket for your tractors. But the basic components would be the same idea, And you got a pattern to follow.
There will be loads of them in the wreckers to probably as it's not a common part guys need for them. I got some here I'd give you if you were closer.
Regards Robert
