Trying to help a neighbor with his charging problem. Lucas(?) generator, which terminal is the Armature terminal and which is the Field terminal? Thanks in advance. J.

he armature will be the larger of the two.

I don't know if this is universally true, but on my 1973 Ford 2000, the connections are on the end plate of the generator. The armature connection is very near the center of the end plate and the field winding connection is very near the outer edge of the end plate.

If you have to, John, pull back the rear cover. Armature terminal will be connected to one of the brushes. I have some questions for you. When is a good time to call?
