Oil Change After Break in Period

Just rebuilt motor in 4000SU Diesel. How many hours should I operate the engine before first oil change.

Did you use molybdenum disulfide assembly lube?

If so, you should change out the initial start up oil after an hour or so. The moly disulfide molecules will not pass through most oil filters and will potentially clog it resulting in bypass.

Good advice,
They must use a real coarse grain of Moly in assy. lube. I used to run a moly motor oil called Moly Long oil in my car without a problem. It was good stuff, knew of a case where all the drained out or burned but the motor kept going without damage. That's why the Germans used in aircraft engine oil in WW2
