Ford 2600 Diesel

Need to replace my battery on my 2600 Ford diesel. It's about 13 years old. I believe that the BCI Group is 4DLT. What brands are the better ones. I am in VT. Many thanks for your help ahead of time.

Must be nice to live in a place you have a choice. Around here it's NAPA or drive 100 miles to a NH dealer.

Vendor options here are the Ford/NewHolland/Case dealer, Mountain View Eqpt. both in Middlebury, NAPA in Brandon and Rutland, or Interstate in Rutland. I just want a battery that will last as long as the current one. Our road commissioner got hosed on a NAPA battery he got last winter, it only lasted 3 months.

The odds are very against you finding a battery that will last even half of 13 years. It is just the way they are made now days.

A New Holland 4DLT will be 1000cca. Others you find may only be 850.

ditto what rick said. all the farm and small auto ag stores here carry the 850 cca 4dlt. I had to go to interstate to get a 1000cca 4dlt.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up getting a 4dlt 1000 cca battery, better than the old one. Now to clean the battery tray with bicarb, grease the battery pan and put it in.
