Tw20 hydralic detent?

I'm a dummy when it comes to hydralic issues - along with many other things...

My tw20 the main hyd lever suddenly stopped coming out of detent when I lower or raise an implement. It will stay in power down or power up until I flick the lever by hand. It drags the engine down so it is trying to run full pressure, bypass.

It did this on both the field cultivator and the disk, so does not appear to be an implement/ cylinder issue.

All hyd functions work fine, 3pt, the other remote lever works just fine, implements stay up over night, etc.

Only the taller hyd lever is affected, and only the raise or lower detent won't kick out.

So, what happened?

I suspect the external linkage is binding - this is the usual cause. Disconnect the linkage at the valve spool and see if the handle moves freely, and I mean freely, as in "flops around". If it does not, then the handle lever is most likely binding on the lever pivot pin. Better you than me if you end up having to pull that pin out.

Thanks Bern. It has the same 'feel' to me but will check it out when it rains and see if it truly is free. I suspect I won't like working in/under/around the cab......

5 acres of corn to plant to finish tomorrow, have wife dig up a bean field and see if I get a half a field of beans planted too to start them.

Supposed to rain Sunday. Never planted stuff this early, and its a mad house up here, I feel way behind the neighbors.....
