Hey guys. I have a an 81' 5600 BPS and the front seat mounting bolt is broken off flush with the top of the lift cover. The bolt was broken before I bought the tractor.
I've removed the seat and using a shorter bolt through the plate that hold the remotes, I'm going to mount that plate on to the lift cover using only the shorter bolt in the rear hole and use the front hole in the plate for a guide to transfer punch the center of the broken bolt. If I'm not successful removing the broken bolt, would it be acceptable to drill the hole larger and tap it 9/16-12. Is there any possibility of drilling into something other than the lift cover, like a jacket, port, etc, or too deep?
