53 ford naa hydraulic issue

I recently purchased a 53 ford naa. Had issues with the 3 pt, so replaced the pressure relief valve, fluid, new seal and o-ring on thr piston, but blew the gasket between the hyd and the top cover (twice).! Any ideas? Can not using the draft control cause this?

There are two spacer gaskets ( same thickness as the main gasket) between the cylinder and the hyd top cover on the back two bolts so as to keep the cylinder perfectly level with the top. Are they still there?

yes, replaced those as well while I was in there
