2600 Rear Rim

I need a rim for my 2600 with 12.4 x 28 rears. The parts lookup gives part number C5NN1050E for the 11" six loop rim, but when I go looking for it, the models listed are earlier, like [i:352ea1d486][b:352ea1d486]this one.[/b:352ea1d486][/i:352ea1d486] Shouldn't the rim in the link work on a 2600?

What about [b:352ea1d486][i:352ea1d486]this one[/i:352ea1d486][/b:352ea1d486] made out of aluminum?

Thanks[/url][/i]

I wondered why my post went weird. So basically a 6 loop 28 inch rim should fit any Ford model with 6 loop rims then? Any opinions on aluminum rims?

If it was me I would get a genuine wheel from NH. I've had a couple of these A&I ba$tard wheels already and they're not quite round... and require a considerable fight to mount the center dish into the wheel. For my time and misery I'll gladly pay more for a genuine wheel next time.

Well that's something I hadn't considered... :?

TISCO rims in that size range are made by Unverferth and dimensionally correct. I stock 10x28 and 12x28 six loop rims and can get 11x28's I'm all but certain. Probably putting in a TISCO stock order Monday or Tuesday. Give me a call tomorrow if you want pricing, Phil. Never experienced aluminum rims of that style.

I've had two of them... one about 5 years ago, the other 6-7 years ago and both had the same problem. Whether or not they fixed the problem since... I have no idea. The problem is that the wheels were not rolled completely concentric.. so you get three lugs of the dish in place OK. The fourth one is tough, the fifth is a lot tougher and the sixth takes all two people can give it with two tire bars to pinch it in place. Keep in mind that the load is carried on the shoulders of the dish and the surface of the lug pads on the wheel, not on the bolts... which are also very difficult to line up.
Rick makes a good suggestion with Unverferth. They generally have good stuff although the price may not be as palatable as A&I... but probably a bunch better than OEM. A lot of your local dealers also probably carry Unverferth lines.

Thanks Rick, I'll call. I did email PP, but haven't gotten a reply.

Not much activity there from noon Saturday to Monday AM. I'll give you the parts dept direct email when we talk.
