I guess she wanted to work

Was poking her nose out of the shed.
I turned my deer plot over with the 3000 today.
Was going to leave it at that but when I put the plow away this one looked eager.
So I hitched it to the disc and made a few rounds.
The 3 point isn't working right. Kinda lifts the disc - sort of.
Pump is dripping oil down the side of the transmission.
So I didn't finish.
There is some sort of a clunk in the axle somewhere. Sounded like in the planetaries or brakes.
Motor runs like a new one. I'm really impressed with that.
SOS worked good though backing up to attach to the disc will take some getting used to.
Or maybe some new cuss words?
It's sure better riding than my little tractor. Bigger rears go over the furrows better and longer makes it smoother.
Kinda fun riding Way up there.
I hope no one notices the tires are still backwards.
And yeah, I need a longer shed for it. It wont fit in the garage up there unless I take the muffler off.
Thanks to this board.
Nice to have folks to share this stuff with.

I assume that's a 4200 narrow front on it? I don't think they ever made a row crop version of a 3000.

The tires were backwards on my '73 4000 when I got it (I think they were still the originals and had been swapped side for side for some reason, and had about 40% tread left but the sidewalls were checked from age) and stayed backwards for almost 5 years until I finally replaced them with new ones.

I should have titled it; I guess she wanted to work too.
These tires are real dry. This side got pretty warm in the fire.
You can see the difference between the two sides. But neither were 40% to begin with.
Here's a quick pic from the 3000 today.
It doesn't like pulling a full 32" in this stuff. So I had the front bottom only cutting about 10"

Thanks for the photos Ultradog.

What do you plant in your food plots? Do you plant once a year or more?

Looking good out in the field.I am sure you will get it squared away in time.

I just go to the local feed/seed store and buy a bag of premixed stuff.
They call it their big rack mix.
It has a couple types of clover, alfalfa, rape, timothy and some turnip thrown in.
About $40 for enough to seed 2 acres. I generally get two years - sometimes 3 out of a planting. The turnip doesn't come back as it is an annual but the other plants do.
I try to mow it at least once a year, sometimes twice, depending on rain, etc.
I planted this last year but it didn't take well. Got it in late and then it was dry.
So I am doing it over this year.
