What is something like this going to bring?

Depends on who see' s it , I would think 14-20 ,but
who knows how bad someone wants a narrow front 9600,
I would think it maybe hard to keep the front end
from sinking as this is a heavy tractor .

Can't tell you what the tractor would bring in your area.
Around here narrow fronts are far preferred to a wide front for many purposes.
If someone wants to give you a big discount because it has one by all means take
the discount and let them find a 40 acre field to turn their wide front around in.
 
I've seen only one 9600 break $6000 at auctions in the last 5+
years. That big with a narrow front would be a turn off for most
buyers. ..unless they were going to make it a pulling tractor. I
suspect that's what it is already - narrow front, nice paint,
weights, and chrome (stainless? ) straight pipe.

Make your own! A Farmall front pretty much bolts right up.
 
I don't believe that tractor left the factory optioned like that. It has the deck side panels from a factory cab tractor on the right side. On an open station tractor, that panel is one piece. It also has the reinforcements on the sides of the fuel tank that a cab tractor would have. The hubs on the narrow front appear to have the screw in dust caps instead of the push in caps that a 9600 would have. The narrow front is probably from a 5200 or 7200. I think this tractor left the factory with a cab and wide front like most 9600s made.

Lot number S51 9600 narrow front, S52 JD 4040 narrow front, S53 AC D19 narrow front, and S54 MM G1000 narrow front all appear to be consigned by the same person. The Ford and MM have the same background in the pictures.
