Ford 801 Hood Fitment

I am trying to finish the restoration of an 801 diesel and have hit a snag. When I put the hood back on it is 1/4" too wide and the fuel door doesn't fit right. The tractor was apart when I bought it. It appears the nose cone is too wide but I thought all 600/800 series used the same one. I measured a 600 and 821 I have and they are 1/4" narrower than the 800. Could it have some incorrect parts. The gaps between the 2 side pieces and the nose cone are pretty tight. Any advice would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem with a 901. The nose cones are all the same as they left the factory but some get changed during their service life. It could have been bent and straightened and grew a quarter inch in the process.
