4000 Update

Well we got the sheet metal on it today, and with the arrival of the mustang, I will probably wait to move the 4000 around until the AC is finished.

Headlights will have to come off when the loader goes back on, but decided we would like to be able to see if it got dark until we get the loader ready.

The only things I have left are to remove the rear tires to paint the rims, and to see what all I have to replace to get the brakes back up in good shape.

And paint the rest of the rear end, reinstall fenders.

Its a 64' It would have been Blue and a Buff Yellow, Since its not a restoration, just repair/fix up we went with the Gray instead of the Yellow at my boys request.

The old Buff Yellow had pretty much faded out before we started, the paint is more rust prevention than anything else.

Here is the 'before' picture.

Loader has a crack in the cross support between the loader arms that had been repaired badly by a PO, so we are going to sand it down, fix it, and have decided it will be Ford Red when it goes back on. We saw a 4000 Diesel painted like that last summer and my boy fell in love with how it looked, so since its going to be his one day, I let him pic the colors.

Any color is better than rust... except pink... I'll put all kinds of magnetic pink ribbons on a tractor to support the cause, but not paint... we saw a pink Case VAC last summer, and I swear the tractor groaned when we walked by... it was dying to be orange again...

Thanks, It didn't look 'bad' before, but the Oil Pressure gauge did... was holding about 5lbs, found Rear Main bearing eating into the crank... no noise just no oil pressure and a steady drip at the back.

Now she holds good oil pressure!! Getting anxious to finish it up and get it back to work, the garden is calling...

Have the AC to finish up, just a garden tractor, but it has swore me off of Orange paint on anything...

Its for my future Son-in-Law, no date set, but they bought a house... was his dad's mower when he was little.

Also have to build him a workbench for his auto shop, but trying to do that in between his trips out to the barn so we can surprise him... soooo many projects...
