Shifter Stuck

Hello all. My first question to this group. I have a Ford NAA tractor. During the winter, my oldest son decided to take it out of the barn to do some stuff in our woods. Somehow he managed to get the tractor stuck in gear. The adjustment for the clutch pedal is all the way in. I believe this is the problem. Can someone advise me on what steps to take next to rectify this problem? Thank you!

Stuck in gear so with it running or not running you can not move the shifter correct?? If that is the case the clutch has nothing to do with it not shifting. Time to pull the top cover off and see what is going on and maybe even stuck in 2 gears if you can not drive it as is. I.E. if when you let up on the clutch pedal it stalls the engine. Also would be a good idea to buy the I-T FO-19 manual

Thanks Hobo. That was a lot of valuable information. I will try that idea tomorrow. I will respond with how it went.

So since there was little room to manually turn the engine at the front of the tractor, I opted to remove the starter to access the flywheel. The link said I was supposed
to rotate the flywheel counter clockwise, which would mean I would pry up on the flywheel, correct? Well, when I did that I got a popping noise from inside the tractor.
Is this normal? Am I turning it wrong?

Okay, from reading the other posts at other forums, I found that the popping noise was because I didn't have the clutch pedal depressed. And I am turning the flywheel the right way. Here is where I'm at now. Per other forums, I jacked up the back end of the tractor so at least one of the tires is off the ground. I put a cinder block on the clutch pedal and there is no more popping. Here's my problem now. The flywheel will turn so far and then bounce back. Plus I'm having a hard time finding a crowbar, pry bar or screwdriver that will stay on the teeth of the flywheel so I can turn the flywheel. Per another forum, I pulled all the spark plugs because of a compression issue in not being able to turn the flywheel. That didn't work. So my questions are: should the flywheel be turning freely? What is causing the bounce back while trying to move the flywheel?

Update: I took a different approach to turning the flywheel. Instead of trying to turn it a lot, I instead moved the pry bar three teeth at a time and pried. That did the trick. I made a mark on the flywheel. I kept turning the flywheel little by little all the while checking to see if the innards freed up. I got a full turn about on the flywheel and the gears were still frozen. So I decided to go one more turn. I got about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way around and the gears finally freed up. So happy right now. Gonna put it all back together tomorrow and see how it goes! Please consider this post closed, for now.
