Jubilee starter only turns very slowly???

Jubliee starter will only turn over slowly, even with good battery, and in 50F temperature. Why will it not spin faster?? Could it be old
lead from battery to solenoid, or lead from solenoid to starter, or bad solenoid?? Ground from battery to tractor frame is good. Maybe
starter needs a rebuild? Your ideas very welcome.....

It could be brushes shot in starter, but check all your connections first. A bad connection should get hot.

battery not putting out high current?
starter draggging...
wrong, or bad cables and or solenoid.

Check the bushing at the drive end. Sometimes a little misalignment of the shaft throws the armature off center of the fields enough so the starter loses torque.

You MUST have good, 6V battery cables.

AWG 4 auto parts store battery cables designed for 12V systems will produce exactly the sympton that you describe.

Lack of info does not help us help you. 6 or 12 volts??? If 6 volts you need the 0 or 00 battery cables the auto type do not work. If 12 volts a bad cable can do that and you can not see if bad by looking at them. You can pull the starter off and have it checked at most auto parts store and there machine will tell you if it is bad or not

On old cable can cause that. I had a set of cables a few years ago that got corroded inside the insulation. I spent a lot of money on other stuff before I discovered what was wrong. It's a lot cheaper and easier to peel back some insulation and look.
