Ford 2000 questions

Hopefully someone might have an answer for this. One of my wife's friends has a 2000 with the verticle exhaust and wanted to convert it to bring the exhaust down so it doesn't blow smoke in his face. Is there a manifold that is out there in Internet land somewhere that allows this?

What year is it?
The pre-64 models were just an exhaust pipe change to go from verticle to horizontal, no manifold change necessary.

Yes, manifolds for a horizontal exhaust are available. Your New Holland dealer should be able to
get one, and I would bet they are available on ebayas well. Could also check the parts listing on
this site.

More important that the year would be, how many cylinders does it have? I just
checked and this site does have the horizontal exhaust manifold for the '65-'75
3-cylinder models. Part number C5NE9430A.

It's a 1969 3 cylinder...So I'll have to fund the part lol

It would be cheaper and easier to just extend the stack (vertical exhaust) up above the driver's head, so that the exhaust doesn't blow in his face. Also add a rain cap to help the issue, they run $2-$4 dollars.

I'd concur - but money isn't an issue for this guy...He bought a nice new tractor but loves the old one lol

yup.. my 3000 has one.. and I found that while a tight fit.. a N muffler and pipe DOES work.

It's a pretty easy switch. You can buy all four items from this site - manifold, gasket pipe and muffler. About $150 plus shipping.
If the old muffler is still good you can reuse it - same size.
You'll have to fashion a bracket to carry the back end - hook it to one of the trumpet bolts. EZ
If you want to go upscale with it buy a Square D weathertight knock out cover to put over the hole in the hood. Can't remember the size - 2 1/2 - 3"?

I have what you need. I changed my 71 2000 3 cyl from horiz to vertical exhaust. Have the manifold, the gasket. Still have the bracket on the footpad.

Parts have been in a box in the shop since I did this a few years ago. Send an email to ke5ssh at gmail dot com (email is my old ham radio callsign) and we can discuss price off list. Won't be much. Just glad to offer them to someone instead of junking them.

I'll take a picture of them in a few minutes and post them.
