Ford 3000 highway

Hi all, came across a Ford 3000 believed to be a 'highway version'. Anyone tell me what the difference is between one of these and a normal version? They seem pretty rare tractors.
Thanks, Harry

There were lots of LCG tractors out there. Popular for mowing on slopes of the overpasses. Great low tractors for use in chicken houses, orchards and vineyards. Never seen a true hyway though.

A highway chassis version of the 3000 series would be stamped on the flat spot with a model number starting with 312 or C12 depending on the year. I've been looking through the parts diagrams for the front and rear axles and steering components, and the Highway version looks to use all of the same parts, including front spindles and rear end gearing, as the regular ag chassis 3000, so I wouldn't know what to look for to tell that it was a highway model other than the stamped model number.

What's different about yours that makes you think that it's a highway model?

It was just advertised as a highway model and is painted yellow that's what got me thinking. Just checked serial number and it is a genuine highway model. Better off keeping it yellow i think.

serial number will not tell you its a hyway.

Lots of old highway mowing tractors were sold, but were not a "highway model", just used by a highway department,, and painted yellow or orange.
