Kind of a mystery Ford 4600

I say that for two reasons: 1) I can't find anywhere that I can match up the information on the data plate under the cowling with model, manufacture date, all the good stuff that helps in ordering parts. 2) When I lost the oil filler cap I discovered that what I have apparently is the industrial (yellow) version of the tractor's engine rather than the ag (blue) version. A little judicious scraping showed the yellow under the blue on the block.

Here's what I've got off the plate:

Tractor Number C518771
Model Number KA214C
Unit Number 6M01B
Transmission Number 6K14C
Rear Axle Number 6L02B
Hyd Pump Number 6K07A
Hyd Lift Number 6J22B

I've been using it lightly for several years now. I've been told by one of our local mobile tractor repair guys that it seems to be a solid machine.

This year I'm going to add a pto driven shredder/chipper to handle a large increase in our sheep and pig population and the accompanying increase in litter, hay stems and manure. I want to fix several problems that have been bugging me before I really start to push it hard.

Figured that finding out what I'm actually working with might be a smart place to start. Did a lot of looking on line and can't find anything past 1975 for this model. Hoping somebody(s) here will be willing to help me out.

Thanks.
Bill

Should be a 4100 All-Purpose. Diesel with vertical exhaust, independent 540 PTO and 8x2 transmission. 45 PTO HP. Final assembly date Dec 1, 1976.

THANK YOU RICK!!! That would explain problems I've been having finding information and the correct parts. (The decal that was put on after the paint job was the culprit since it said "4600" and what did I know. Thanks again.

I'm not sure of protocol on this site. Should I start a separate thread for each problem the tractor has or continue on this one? Just for fun here's the first one. I replaced the instrument console and everything works except the fuel gauge which shows roughly half of what is actually in the tank and the temperature gauge that doesn't register at all.

I think I've found the answer to that one. Appears it's the evil and greatly disliked "voltage stabilizer", I'll get one and see if I can install it based on the experience of others on here.
