3400 brake cross shaft leaking

So while my engine is at the machine shop I'm cleaning up the rest of the chassis and found a largeish puddle of lube between the trans drain plug and the rear end drain plug - looks to me like it's the brake cross shaft where it goes through. Is this common? There's no discernible play in the shaft so I think the bushings are fine. Did my 47 yr old seals just decide enough was enough?

Looks like the pedal assembly comes apart and the shaft pulls out the pedal side on the right, clean the shaft, replace the seals and I'm good right?

Pedals off, shaft slides out. Don't even
have to take it all the way out. Mine was
pitted. Used JB weld to fill pits and
sanded smooth. Change the felts too,
keeps dirt out of the seals.

I think it pulls out from the left side.
Quite often the shaft itself will be worn so that new seals don't last. Bushings seem to fare better than the shaft. New shaft isn't expensive. They are available from this site - as are the bushings.
