5 spd input shaft

Wanted to check before reassembling tractor, was having clutch problems with not being able to get in gear. Installing a new clutch asm, pilot bearing, throwout bearing and rear main seal. It is a 5spd with live PTO, 901 Powermaster. My question is how much up and down, side to side movement should the input shaft have ?
Thanks

The question should be how much end play...

What I did to overcome this issue was put the washer in the last pix in the link in a press and put more bevel in it...

More than you might think, since the pilot bearing supports it once the tractor is put back together.

Worry less about how loose it is, and more about how smooth and quiet it is.

Thanks, it never made any noise, clutch just wouldn't release to where you could put it in gear unless it had been in gear already.
