Howdy. New to the forum, need some direction...
I have an old Timberjack Skidder. It's got a 172 Gas motor with about 600 hrs. on it. Runs good. Did the motor in a friends shop, 10 years ago maybe.....More of a toy than a workin machine.
Mechanical Fuel Pump crapped out. Rubber diaphragms got cracks in it. Doesn't appear to be a serviceable part, doubt I could find a rebuild kit anyway.....This pumps got a glass sediment bowl on the top of the pump body and is removable with 6 screws, and the number 4088 stamped on the side of it. Yeah well.....go to the parts store lookin for a fuel pump for a 62 Timberjack. I looked all over hell, books, internet . I'll be dipped if I can find one. Need another Pump that will fit a simple ford engine...I don't care if it's got the sediment bowl on it or not, long as the arm and mounting holes are the same. Anybody run into this challenge before, or know of a source of a new pump, or....got a good used one that'll fit my skidder they'd part with part with for a reasonable Dollar? There's gotta be a bunch of those engines out in the world, somewhere.
Can, but don't really want to go electric.
Thanks in advance for any education in this matter.
