Another ? on SOS oil

Could auto trans fluid be used in a SOS? Looks like guts are like a car auto trans. Or are internal parts so different that the ISO 68 oil is the only one that can be used?

ISO 68 is hydraulic oil and should not be used. The S-O-S needs additional properties over and above a hydraulic fluid. You should use a UTF (Universal Tractor/Trans Hyydraulic Fluid) that says on the label that it meets or exceeds the Ford/New Holland M2C134D specification.

134D or it's equivalent is the specified oil. That is a light weight multi-vis gear lube with friction modifiers that is spec'd for tractor transmissions and hydraulics.
ISO 68 is a straight weight hydraulic oil and IS NOT approved for use in anything using wet clutches or wet brakes such as the S-O-S transmission.
As far as using Dexron type F or something like that... it would probably work for a while. I don't think I'd get too upset about using it if I had nothing else but it's not something I'd make a practice of. You need to keep in mind that there are various formulations of ATF, all for a different purpose and transmission... and in the case of the S-O-S, it specs 134D as it's approved oil...

Do not, and I repeat, do not use anything other than the modern equivalent to and or specified fluid, period! It will fail and you will be out a transmission.
