walked away from 2110

well, just got home from looking at an early 70s 2110 gasser. They went as low as $2k but with those rear 24" tires&rims rotted out and crumbling I couldn't bring myself above $1800. It started and ran well, the H/L 8speed worked well, PS made steering effortless, PTO worked but leaked and I didn't try the lift. Front spindles had quite a bit of play and the RH radius rod had an interesting bend.

think I did the right thing or should I head back out this weekend?

isnt it a shubira with ford paint?.. If so, I would pass unless its nearly free. And then turn it quick. Parts can be non-obtainium.

There were two different Ford tractors called a 2110. The first one was the Low Center of Gravity version of the 3 cylinder 2000 series made from '65-'75, which I believe is the one that he is referring to. The other one was a 4 cylinder diesel only compact made by Shibaura for Ford from '83-'86, which is the one that you are thinking of.

it was the short 3cyl sister to my 3400 not that mid 80s re-brand.

I was almost thinking of getting it and raising it with full size spindles and 12.4X28s out back.

Someone wanted it to be a 2000 so they rolled blue paint on most of the hood and nose.

'cmon guys, someone tell me what a great tractor this is and how they've got a stash of rear wheels/rims for cheap and I should go back and pick it up.....

Gears,

I bought a '71 2110LCG last year for $2300 that included an 8' rake and a 5' brush hog. The one I bought was a diesel and ran great. yes the tires are old and cracked, and it leaks a little, but it starts and runs great.

I'd definitely try the lift to see if it works. $1800 doesn't sound too bad

she wouldn't go below 2000. I keep hoping she'll call me back and say $1800 will take it. No implements go with it.
