861 paint color

I had the red and gray mixed from my supplier in Nason's paint. I went to the dealer today and got a qt each of the read and gray. The dealer gray looks like a light army truck color. The red is really pinkey. Have you guys been mixing it from a paint store or using the dealer paint. Thanks for the help. ED

Van Sickle is what I have been using.
Blue, Gray and Red all look good and coat well.

I got some of the AC Orange for another project, I hate Orange Paint, it goes on too translucent, even over a well primed surface. Means 3x the Coats to get something the right color without runs.

I won't use AGCO paint, it goes on too thick and is prone to orange peel, no matter what I do.

We always use the paint from the new holland dealer and use Nason Ful-Base thinner. The fast is number 441-20 and they also have a medium and slow depending on temp. We use a hardener in the paint on the sheetmetal that our dealer sales that is made by valspar. It is number REN3001. This combo works great for us. This our 861 we done last year using this paint combo

Not trying to hijack this thread, but where did you get the seat? Any modifications to make it fit? I'm thinking about upgrading the old metal pan seat on my 841...Thanks

I got my paint from external_link they are a authorized remanufactorer of old Ford tractors. I trust them to have the right color.

Its from tisco because im a dealer but the same as
you see in alot of farm and home type stores. It
bolts right in place with no mods its got slotted
holes so it fits the two bolt holes no problem. We
did make it go back a little more to give a little
more belly room for the steering wheel. It was
easier to do that than loose the belly!!!!

Thanks, it looks a little more comfy than the old metal pan seat. Plenty of belly room is good :D

I put a seat just like this on my 841. Love it! I had to add a piece of 1/2 inch wood under the seat mount to raise it up, as the back of the seat was hitting the draft spring. Other than that, it fits like a charm.
